The “Tears Dress” from Elsa Schiaparelli’s “Circus Collection” of February 1938 was one of several avant-garde pieces Schiaparelli created with famed surrealist Salvador Dali.

The dress features trompe l’oeil tears and was inspired by several 1936 works by Dali.
